Partnerships

LCMS World Relief and Human Care acts in partnership with a number of other Lutheran assistance organizations:

• Lutheran World Relief (LWR) Baltimore: ongoing relationship since 1945 to respond to international emergencies and offering self-help development grants in other countries.
• Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS), Baltimore: together we offer assistance to immigrants and refugees.
• Lutheran Services in America (LSA) , an alliance of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, with which we serve people in the United States with a variety of emergency and long-term human care needs
• Lutheran Disaster Response: partner with the inter-Lutheran agency to respond to emergencies in the U.S.

LCMS World Relief and Human Care also awards disaster response and long-term development grants to international partners including: LCMS missionaries, overseas partner churches, approved mission organizations and non-government organizations (NGOs). Domestic grants are awarded to LCMS congregations, districts and Lutheran social ministry organizations.
