Project 24: Orphan Rescue Centers

Half the Kenya population of 32 million is children, and 2-3 million of have lost both parents. After a recent trip to Kenya, four men from North Dakota and one from Minnesota launched an ambitious effort to build 24 orphan rescue centers and provide scholarships for orphan support.

They will use an existing rescue center as their model to build new facilities for 50 children for about $40,000 (USD) each. Annual sponsorship will cover the needs of one child at the orphanage, including food, clothing, medicine and schooling. The first rescue center will break ground in Mombasa, Kenya.
