DIVERT
DIVERT (Discovering and Integrating Voluntary Effective Resolutions Together) employs an early intervention, family based strategy for at risk youth ages 6-17 residing in Grand Forks or Nelson County, North Dakota. The project provides a sanctioned alternative to juvenile court involvement for youth showing early signs of risk as indicated by receiving a first offense or by other behavioral indicators being noted by adults around them. Crisis intervention, assessment, short-tem solution based counseling, goal setting, parent education and referral to appropriate community resources are all a part of the services offered through DIVERT.
Day Report
Day Report is an after school and early evening supervision and competency building program for youth ages 14-17 who have a history of delinquent offenses and are currently on probation or under custody of the Division of Juvenile Services. The overall goal is to provide these youth with additional supervision, structure and support while being held accountable for their behavior. This allows youth the opportunity to remain in the community while building basic skills and competencies. Youth are taught alternative activities, anger management, conflict resolution, life and social skills, problem solving and the development of positive coping skills.
