Chaplain for Prison After Care

Ministry in jails and prisons is challenging and requires long-term perspective and dedication on the part of chaplains and pastors. Prisoners are seeing their worlds collapse around them as they lose friends, jobs, possessions and their own freedom. Goals of this project are to minister to men and women leaving prison and help them connect to appropriate resources: jobs, education, agencies or other individual support.

Scholarships for Latino Children
Trinity Lutheran Church

Trinity has operated an effective outreach program to the Latino community in the church’s immediate neighborhood. Services include food distribution, ESL classes, a community garden and other features. Of special significance are the seven Latino children enrolled at Trinity School. These children have done well academically, many improving from unsatisfactory progress in public schools to honors status at Trinity. This grant request will help maintain and increase the current Latino enrollment

TLC Child Development Center Tuition Subsidy

Trinity Lutheran Church operates a child development center that offers quality care and education for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years to support families with two working parents. Trinity is located in the country, three miles from the nearest town. There are a significant number of Hispanic farm workers living in the area, who desire quality care for their children but cannot afford the tuition and registrations costs. Grant funds are requested to provide tuition subsidies for low-income Latino families associated with Trinity Lutheran Church.

Grace Based Healing Pastoral Counseling
Samaritan Counseling Center

The Good Samaritan Fund of Samaritan Counseling Center drastically reduces fees that a financially challenged person will need to pay while obtaining therapy for necessary services. Grant funds will be used to increase this fund so clients will receive needed services.
